Meet Moru & Kuru – our new ambassadors for nature conservation

Who are these furry creatures Moru & Kuru, and how will they be helping our environmental work? The Morukuru Goodwill Foundation (MGWF) was founded in 2007 and has a multitude of goals including, but not limited to wildlife conservation.  Creating environmental awareness is one of the foundation’s main goals, and in particular, helping our young guests develop a passion for conversation.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, we used our time planning new initiatives to support the MGWF.  This unprecedented time resulted in plenty of creativity, and the Morukuru family responded with innovation and designed Moru & Kuru. These delightful creatures are twin Zebras who were separated at birth but reunited by our Morukuru family.

Meet Moru, a surfer zebra who lives at Morukuru Ocean House and Morukuru Beach Lodge in the De Hoop Nature Reserve. His sister Kuru is settled in the Madikwe where she enjoys a bush-chic lifestyle. Separated by the miles but united in purpose.

These siblings are new ambassadors for the Morukuru Goodwill Foundation and are committed to teaching children about nature conservation. Moru and Kuru are excited to meet you all on your next trip to Morukuru Family.

Until then, you can follow their escapades on our social media channels where they will be sharing their knowledge about the environment and how we can all make a difference.  Wamkelekile Moru & Kuru we look forward to learning with you!
